It appears our import for this year is blossoming with age. For most ball players a 100 game season with Amarillo in the American association would be enough baseball and afford a small break before another season here in Australia with the Big Cats. That is not on the cards for the ageless Freddy Flores who recently signed as a pitcher and pitching coach with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League for the remaining 3 weeks of their season.
The Atlantic League is recognised as the highest level of professional baseball outside the major leagues with over 40% of its players boasting big league experience. Freddy managed to throw 2 shutout innings in his first appearance this week and is looking forward to more mound time before he heads for Australia on October 1st. The club is excited about his pending arrival and looks forward to having him help us both on the field and in his role as co coach.
