It is with sadness we bring news of John Crichton’s passing aged 91 on Wednesday 8 February.
John was regularly seen and involved in many clubs and community organisations around Dandenong throughout his long life.
Happy, cheerful, always popping in to keep his connections going, he contributed as a Council volunteer and Ambassador, supported Dandenong Town Hall, Heritage Hill and was heavily involved in Benga Oral History Centre, the Festival of Music and Art for Youth and Dandenong Agricultural and Pastoral Society and Dandenong and District Historical Society. He was a player of the Dandenong Lions Baseball Club and life member of Dandenong Baseball Association and in 1998 received a City of Greater Dandenong Australia Day Award – the framed certificate took pride of place in his room.
John spent his last years at Wintringham aged care facility in Potter Street Dandenong.
His daughter Catherine lives in Hallam and it is understood there are other siblings mourning his passing.
The family welcomes all Johns friends, supporters and fellow volunteers at his funeral on
Monday 20 February at 2.30pm
