Introducing Freddy Flores

The Big Cats are pleased to announce the acquisition of Freddy Flores as our import player for the forthcoming season. Freddy has a wealth of experience as a professional baseballer and also as a baseball and softball coach. Originally a hitting infielder Freddy played several seasons at a couple of clubs where he hit for average and played both middle infield and a little outfield and was noted for his speed.
Later in his career he made the transition to a starting pitching role where he had several very successful seasons with the Brockton Rox of the Can Am League where he was a teammate of current Big Cat coach Scott Wearne as well as former Big Cat imports Hunter Davis, Brad Hertzler and Dom Ramos.
This past season Freddy has been pitching for the Amarillo Sox in the American Association where he also had the position of pitching coach. He will arrive here October 4th and is looking forward to pitching/playing with the men’s teams as well as helping out with both the Women’s and Junior programs and helping out around the club where ever possible.
He is very excited about the opportunity to join our club and play ball out here in Australia and is looking forward to seeing some of our great country, meeting people and enjoying the cultural exchange, try and make an effort to introduce yourselves and help make his stay as enjoyable as we can.
