Springvale Lions 2016-17 season import Dave Fischer left K.H. Wearne Field for home searching for a contract with an MLB affiliated club.
Once home, the Minnesota Twins came calling, and Dave signed a Minor League contract for Spring Training with the club, leaving Dave to battle it out among the many hopefuls at Minor League camp.
In great news for Dave, he not only survived several rounds of cuts, but has been named to the roster of the Fort Myers Miracle, the Twins Advanced-A class team.
Dave was a part of the Washington Nationals system for three years between 2012-2014 in the Minor Leagues, before joining Bridgeport in the Atlantic League in 2015, before enjoying a 9-3 season at Rockland in the Can-Am League last year.
The Miracle start their season on the road, however come Sunday morning Australian time, Dave is likely to get the start in the Miracle’s home opener for 2017 against the Jupiter Hammerheads.
All at the Springvale Baseball Club wish Dave the best for the coming season.
