The Big Cat Tomatoes take a break from the regular Monday night competition this week spending the next 10 days in search of gold at the Pan Pacific Masters games on the beautiful Gold Coast.
The Big Cats have tasted plenty of success over the years at this event with 3 gold medals over the last 8 years but will be looking to bounce back after only managing a Bronze in bizarre circumstances 2 years ago.
This much respected baseball tournament is just a small part of a rather large multi sport event that will host over 30 sports and more than 15,000 athletes or in our case some old fat slow guys pretending to be sportsmen. But with around 45 baseball teams participating at the impressive Surfers Paradise Baseball fields it should be a great opportunity to compete against some of the best mature baseballers from around Australia and the world and renew acquaintances with some great friends.
We welcome 2 young recruits Tim Hanson and Scott Baillie to the team this year, both have finally reached that age where they can realise one of their lifelong ambitions and play with the old guys.
Hopefully some updates and perhaps some photos should be available so follow the teams fortunes on the clubs Facebook page.
