Ozzie Guillen Coaches in Masters All Star Game

On a beautiful night for baseball, the Big Cat Tomatoes had the honour that no other team in the country can claim – they were coached by a Big League Manager.  Playing against a Masters All Star team of players from around Victoria, the Big Cats enjoyed the company of Ozzie on their bench, coaching first base…and then in a guest appearance, Ozzie took the field replacing Rob Hogan for a few innings at first base.

A great night for the Club saw a Little League clinic earlier in the evening, and then a bbq dinner post game.  With many players and supporters in attendance, Ozzie enjoyed a couple of VB’s and talked Big League baseball telling stories in the clubhouse until  around 10pm.  Literally a once in a lifetime opportunity, the club was proud to be involved with the great man who enjoyed his chance to spend time in Melbourne (and Perth).

For a full album of photos, see either the Springy or Aussie Sparks Facebook pages.

Thanks to Aussie Sparks, Pacific Headwear and Fielders Choice for making the trip possible.  And to all those around the club who turned up to support the event, and to support baseball, thank you.
